Letter 64

Yo yo yo!

Whats up fam, this week was another success in the Jesus work. Tuesday was District Meeting and I trained on the Spirit, and how our investigators need to have it when we teach. It went fan flipping tastic. Then we met a less active at the park. To get to know her, we played soccer and basketball with her little boy. He got excited when I would hold him up to the hoop so he could dunk it. ha Wednesday morning we went on a hike with Maggie a investigator, we went to the same place but went on a longer hike. We were more prepared this time, not wearing our Jesus attire. ha But this lady is pretty crazy, we asked her a few questions about the other missionaries and what they taught her and it was all over the place. Not sure were gonna be teaching her much longer. She did want a blessing after, it was cool to see how she has a testimony of that. Then later that day we went home and washed our bum cracks! Then we went and taught Bill and his friend Ric. Ric is a really prepared guy but has a big drinking problem. It was sad during the lesson we were talking about 9/11 and I guess they had good friends on the top floor of the towers. He was telling us how they were literally jumping out the windows and then he just broke down in tears. So we decided to watch the Easter video with him and I told him after the video that Jesus made it possible so that we can repent and see our loved ones again and how God has a plan for all of us. It helped him out, they both loved the video. Then that night we had dinner at the Jensen's house then headed to the church for Mutual.
Our investigator Markese was there again so, that was good. Then some dodge ball broke out and it was everyone against us! It was pick on the missionaries night, I guess..but we did put up a good fight! ha. Thursday was our walking day and we were inside pretty much all day. We went and got some food at a place called Friendly's, its kind of like Denny's. But the manager is a less active so we just introduced ourselves. Our server lady asked about our Book of Mormon's on the table. So, I gave her mine. We have been handing those out like candy lately. Then that night we went over to the Kearl family's house for dinner. It was a good time, me and Pelsue were riding these little scooter things you sit in. It was a bit difficult for this Ginger, I didn't fit too well in them. So, Pelsue had to push me. ha. Friday we went and tried some other less actives. Then, I was dying of starvation so we went to this BBQ place. And oh man it was sooo good! My sandwich had burger, pulled pork, bacon and onion straws on it! After we went and saw a less active and then helped Diana at her store. Then we met up with a recent convert at a buffet. Saturday was cool we had a big clean up with a bunch of other missionaries at this park. Our job was too clear out this big fence that had trees and all this crap all over it. My job was to cut down the little trees with a hand saw.
I cut down around 20 or 30! I was dead after. Then after that we went and helped a new family move into the area. So, there was another 3 hours of moving heavy stuff. They are a way cool family though. They said they will have us over for dinner a lot! Sooo they are good in my book! ha After that we went home and had some lunch, then went over to the Ashdowns for dinner. I guess Sister Ashdown has a brother moving to Cedar to teach at SUU.
But after them we went to the church and played Basketball with some members and a investigator for the rest of the night. Yesterday, I had to give the opening prayer and Pelsue gave a talk. After church we went and taught Carol a less active and had a good lesson with her. And after we went over to the Sutherland's house for dinner aka the 3rd cuz place. They are a fun family. Then this is where the donkey show came into play here in Jerz. While me and Pelsue were going to try a less active last night. Pelsue dropped his name tag into a rain gutter; about 3 feet under. ha So, this caused me and him to think of some Red Neck yacht club stuff to try and get it out. Started off with a stick and a piece f gum we chewed and put on the end of it, because it was the only sticky stuff we had in the car. Then tried duck tape we borrowed from some random lady across the street. And finally we went and asked for hanger's and with some team work we got his name tag out! And you already know we gave the lady a book of Mormon for her kindness! Ha ha she was cool about it though. But that was the week for this Ginger.

Love you guys! Hope you all had fun with miss Sarahlee! She is awesome!

This is Elder Pelsue's weekly lettter that has some things Trev left out ha ha!

So this week was good Tuesday we met a less active and went to the park with her and her son and got to know her. and played with her son. and in the midst of playing on the hockey rink I hit a slick spot and sprained my ankle again no biggy but luckily I have done it enough that I know how to get it better so I've been aiding that back to health this week. then we went and ate at a members house and showed them a fun trick because they have little kids :) then on Wednesday I put two braces on my bad ankle and one on my good one and we went out on a hike with an investigator. after that we went and taught 2 other investigators and then ate dinner with a member. to finish the day we went to the church for mutual and then it turned out to be a kill the missionaries with dodge balls night!!! I tried using the expert advice of patches oh hoolahan consisting of "dodge, duck, dip, dive, and ......dodge" but it was not a fair fight haha but we had a lot of fun. and I did take out some of the youth and in some unfortunate casualties little kids got taken out as well from some good dodges on the youth's part  :P but they all showed up to church on Sunday and gave me high fives. then on Thursday it was our walking day and we sat out on the roof and planned and updated our area book. also we played  baseball with a Gatorade cap in our apartment and there was an unfortunate casualty of a chipped cap getting hit and elder Blake Robert Pelsue catching it right in the forehead and going man down. but he ended up being ok and made a full recovery. and then to finish out the night we had BBQ with the young women president and her family. Friday we saw a less active that just had a knee replacement about 5 weeks ago and found out she just broke her femur. it was sad and crazy. then we helped out at a nonprofit organization called GST or Garden State Treasury  and then we saw a recent convert and went to a chinese buffet with him. it tasted good....... but not the best idea just saying all you can eat means all you can eat will come out eventually. just saying haha usually at the same time :P then on Saturday we had a 4 zone clean up project and I got to see elder Packham. AKA my boy and AKA my MTC Comp. so that made me happy then I also go to see elder Maloy who has taught me how to play some guitar :) I love those guys then right after that project we helped a family moving into the ward move into their house. and to finish out the night we played B-ball with an investigator and some members and out bishop. and finally Sunday this is where everything good and not good and funny happened..... so church...... about 2 minutes before sacrament started I was asked to give a talk because one of the youth didn't show up... I think it is carma for when I accidently slept in when I was supposed to give a talk. so score is Blake: 0  Heavenly Father: 1 ... he is winning haha and then after that it went well other than right after all the youth were still sad that Elder Smith and I kicked their butts at dodge ball so they hid my scriptures and his backpack so we looked for those for a while. then we found them. then we ate at elder smith's cousins house that lives in our ward. and then we went to try to contact a referral....( this is where the subject up top comes into play.) as I got out of the car I tried to take my planner out of my shirt pocket and my pocket tag that was clipped on it ( and this is in slow motion.) flew out of my pocket and as I tried to catch It, It bounced off the car and right down the sewage/storm drain..... so needless to say I was mad. because I wanted that tag to last me my whole mission because I haven't lost one yet. so we went back to the house and elder smith had an idea. we needed a long stick and duck tape. so we loaded up and went back to the scene of the crime. and we found a stick but elder smith had forgot the duck tape. so we tried chewing some gum and putting it on the end of the stick  and picking it up with the stickiness. but that turned out to be a failure. so we went and knocked on a door and asked a lady at about 8:30 at night for some duck tape and luckily she had some so we attempted the original plan of putting duck tape on then end and picking it up with the stickiness... and failed so we went back and asked her if we could use a wire hanger. and she gave us one. and so we create almost a shovel thing with the duck tape and a broom handle and lifted the tag about half way up and then elder smith hooked one side with the strung out hanger and slowly lifted the tag up to safety!!!!! and after our success we celebrated and also we turned using all of this wonderful lady's stuff and destroying 2 of her hangers we returned the remaining tape and broom and turned it in to a contact to where she accepted a book of Mormon and we promised that we would get her more hangers. so that was my week :) it was a good exciting one I hope you all have a good week :) I love you guys: Elder Pelsue

Fam whats up!

This week was a good one. Started off with the fishing competition with Jones, his comp and us.Thanks to my  good guiding skills Pelsue caught 2 perch. ha! And I guess Jones caught 3 bass. But long story short Jones is a sore looser and he thinks since he got one more fish then us he wins but the game is still on! haha But now for the Jesus stuff. This week was good. Tuesday we had lots of rain. After my district meeting we went and tried some door knocking and finding less actives, and me and Pelsue were at this door and right when we got there it started to sprinkle, then after our second knock it started down pouring! we had to run to the car and my gray suit was black when I got in the car from us running in the rain. I don't know what we did to deserve that one but it happens ha. Then we went and taught a Recent convert, Brother Gregory. He is a cool guy, and has a cool story of why he joined. We met him in Dunkin Donuts over 6 Delicious donuts so it was a party. After that I went over to the Caldwell area to interview a kid for baptism. His name was Franklin. He is well prepared by the sister missionaries over there. I even brought him a donut! Nice I know! Wednesday we started early at 10 am going over to a investigator's Maggies house and that ended up being a donkey show. She thought we were meeting her at this hiking trail so we drove another 10 min over to the trail. We were in our Jesus cloths and I was rocking some black vans cause my church shoes were soaked from the rain the day before but I was alll for going on a hike so we did it anyways rockin our Jesus wardrobe! ha it was cool though we hiked like 2 miles I think. We got to this view where you could see Manhatten it was cool. After we went and saw Diana at GST and helped her with fixing stuff up and moving furniture. Then we went and saw Frank, he wasn't feeling very good cause he was in a lot of pain from his leg so we kept it short and sweet with him. At the end of the night we went and saw Alex who we have taught for a while. We had a good lesson with him, probably one of the best. We watched the easter video with them on lds.org and they liked it a lot. We talked about the Atonement and then the cool part was when Alex told us how much we have helped him and the example we are to him. He said he respects to us and thanks us for everything we do. It was a nice pick me up!  Thursday was packing day because we got word that were moving to the sisters apartment so we packed our stuff up. Packing is boring so yes there was a boxing match that broke out with some blow up boxing gloves Chandler sent us. And I broke mine the first round haha got intense!! Then the night ended with going to dinner with the Mayne family for pizza. Friday we moved over to our new crib in the morning and let me just tell you. First off the Apartment had sisters in it so yes it smelt a lot better then our apartment. But I learned that when women take showers and their hair comes off their head they whipe that crap on the wall. So we found a whole jungle of hair on the wall of our new shower! Women are nasty haha. Found a big ol bottle of Veet too! the hair removal stuff. Stuff works good tried some on my arm haha. But we did that then we had dinner at the Ramptons and then I did another baptism interview. And this one was hard cause the father spoke french and hardly any English but he passed, and his 12 year old son was interview too. I gave him some candy and I guess his dad doesn't give him much candy, this kid ate this stuff in like 2 seconds haha. But Saturday we played some B Ball with the youth at the church which was fun, then we went out and taught some less actives. Yesterday was fun, had church and I was looking all fresh in my new suit I got and my easter tie from Ashley. We got fed 3 times too it was great. Then came home for a bathroom break and the sisters left us hanging with a half a role of T paper but Pelsue came to my rescue so I made it out okay haha. Then today we did our studies and had comp study on the roof of our house playing our guitars. ha We live on a main road and everybody was waving and honking at us it was pretty funny. Then today we got to hear from Elder Tom Perry. I even shook his old hand. He is a cool guy, he talked about the priesthood then opened it up for questions from missionaries. About last 20 min of the meeting me and tongan and D port were dying of hunger, but I was well prepared with Jerky and cookies.Tongan had his pockets filled with cliff bars. haha we were having a feast on the whole back row. haha but that was my week fam, Congrats to my boy Kelton on his return home from his misison! I miss that kid! Me and Jones are both shocked he is home. Love you guys. Go watch the easter video on the lds.org site!

Fam

This week was a real busy one! Monday night started it off with one of our zone leaders going on exchange with me and we went to GNC to get him some fat burning pills, haha these pills were meant for people that were highly addicted to coffee so they have a ton of caffeine and metabolism boosters in them. ha he was on the pot all night and he was sooo hyper. he would not shut his face,ha he kept talking to me till about mid night, it was funny though. Tuesday I had District meeting. And guess who wanted to come to my meeting.? President and Sister Jeppson. I about pooped my pants when I saw them walk in the door. But out of all the trainings I did, I'm glad they came to this one because I used hunting in my lesson. They were laughing, I read out of the bible how we are the spiritual hunters and I related it to hunting, and how our Jesus cloths we have on is our Jesus camo and our Book of Mormon is our bow/gun haha it was sweet. Then the rest of the day kind of sucked. We drove about a hour and a half over to our investigators house who we are helping him quit drinking and he was soo drunk when we got there. He was ticking me off, he kept asking dumb questions, everyone could tell I was about to lose it so we just testified to them and left. So they just got DROPPED! Wednesday we had a lesson with our investigator Bill and we talked about the Law of Chasity and he asked us what the whole deal of it is so we gave him the nut shell of it. And he was still a bit confused ha so I  told him you can't touch the booby area and stuff before marriage and he was like "what! I can't even touch a boob!?" hahahahaha me and Pelsue were laughing so hard. It was a great lesson. Then that night we were able to have one of our investigators come to the church for mutual. His name is Markese he is 12, he had a lot of fun so it went good. Thursday we were suppose to have walking day but our day was so busy we could even do that. We went back over and saw bill, then we had dinner with the Celearo family which was way good. We were flipping starving! Then we drove to Englewood so I could interview a little girl for Baptism. Her name was Lianna, she is 12. She was really shy so it was kind of hard talking to her. But I opened her up. I bribed her with some Swedish fish ha, she did good on her interview she got dunked on Sunday. And after her interview I gave her a gift certificate to Dairy Queen and told her dad he needs too take her out on Monday. ha He was down.  Friday we went and did a little service for a investigator that just wants us for our muscles and service but it's whatever! :) then after we went over too Diana's and helped her out for a couple hours, after we helped her we went and met up with a new investigator we got, his name is Tony, he is a cool guy. He ran into some missionaries who had a flat tire and he helped them out then they referred him to us. But we went and talked with him, he has a girl friend and a little boy, he told us right off the bat he isn't interested in becoming a Mormon but we will see about that. haha We just told him were not here to sale him on anything just too teach him about Jesus and if he wants it for himself its all up to him. So he wants us to come back next week so we did something right! Then after Diana took us too Applebees for dinner, we had a fun time there, she ordered up her cocktail and we started talking about the church and it went really good. We answered a lot of questions she had. It was a fun time though, got to talk about all of her family in Columbia and it looks like I might have to go there and find my wife from what she told us. So book that flight for when I get home!! Saturday we went over to some other investigators house and Carol was outside cleaning her new car and jamming country music, Zac brown band and a lot more! I about died I haven't heard that forever. So we had a little country music concert! ha I was playing the air guitar and pelsue had the violince, were pro! haha But then yesterday was a really busy day. We had 6 investigators come to church finally. And on top of that President and his wife came too our church so thats twice I about pooped my pants this week seeing him. ha! But the investigators had a good time and said they would be back next week. Then the primary wanted me and pelsue to come share a missionary experience we had with the kids so we went in there guns hot and got the kids all pumped up and told them our story about how Bill was praying in conference about the church then left. ha! The kids get all excited when we come in there I feel bad for the ladies in there trying to calm them all down after. ha! We don't help the situation going around giving high fives haha! whoops!. But we finished the day with dinner at bishop Manchesters place and teaching our investigator April and seeing a less active Carol and Lexi. We ended the week teaching 22 lessons and having 6 investigators at church... Are we on steroids?.. nope were just that good haha! Oh and p.s Jones called me up yesterday and were moving out of our apartment into another apartment but you can still send mail to my other place cause we will stop by and grab it. And also just to let you all know me and Jones are having a fishing competition today on who catches the biggest fish today out of our companionship. So please keep Jones in your prayers to be able to catch a fish because he will need it hahahaha love you guys!

Letter #61 Love him!!! Still keeps us laughing!

Heyoo
This week was something else. Monday ended the P day with fishing and having dinner at the Maynes house with steak and ribs! it was SWAGGER! Tuesday was transfers and i stayed, so about a month and a half more for this ginger. But since we took over the sisters area we went over and taught a lady named Banana on Tuesday, Ya no joke her name is Banana, she is a lil wacky! We brought a member Bro Ashdown over with us; he home teaches her, but i got yelled at for cracking my knuckles and she made me sit on my hands haha she was mad! Chick is crazy! Pelsue and Bro Ashdown just were laughing. ha Wednesday we had our zone meeting then we went over and taught Bill Crabb, he was the sisters investigator and he is awesome. I've know him for a while, but we had a member Bro Reeder over with us. And it was a bit of a donkey show cause they both can talk like none other. But Bill is just struggling with the true authority so its hard for him to approve of all the commandments. But it went good.  Thursday we got a call from a member who was in the hospital and she wanted a blessing, so we went over and talked with her and her husband. She is really sick it was sad. She was really yellow cause of something the doc gave her made her look really yellow. It reminded me of Grandma Millington. But she has cancer and stuff, but one funny thing she did was a nurse came in and gave her some high quality drugs for her pain and she was high as a kite after. I asked her how she felt after they gave her it and she started flapping her arms hahaha it was funny stuff. Then later that day we walked over to see a guy named George who is a crazy dude. He says the F word every other word ha. But we talked with him for a bit then he told us about all of his girlfriends i was laughing so hard, but we read Ether 12:27 with him then i said the closing prayer and right in the middle of my prayer he said "holy Sh&* you gave me the cold chills." ha then when i was done he no joke had huge goose pumps on his arm it was pretty legit. I guess im a powerful lil ginger when i pray haha. Then that night i get a call from Bro Mayne telling me he has 2 tickets for the NJ Devil's game for Friday night and asked if we knew of anyone who wanted to go. Sooooo of flipping course we wanted to go. So i texted Jones and told him the situation and he said to asked the big dog President Jeppson. And he said my chances of going is like me making a 400 yard shot with a bow hahaha he was right P Jepps said no deal. haha So we went anyway!!! HA JK JK WE DIDN'T! We gave the tickets to our investigator Diana who runs the GST place, she needs a break, so my blessings for that give away should come up soon ha. Friday we went and got the tickets for Diana and took them to her. It was cool, she gave us a picture of all of us that we took a couple weeks ago, and started crying and saying how hard it is to find people like us and how much she appreciates all we have done for her. It was cool to see how much we have done for her and how much she appreciates it. Then on top of that she hooked me up with a sexy suit! I look pretty fresh in it not gonna lie. I asked Diana how i looked in it and she told me i better be careful cause their are cougars gals out there that might get me hahahahahahahahaha its that Smith gene baby! Then later that day we went over and had some pizza with a member that just got back to church, her name is Sister Summa she is flipping funny! She has some crazy stories to, then after we went over to a families place the Burlesons. They are members and the dad is a founder of this robot cargo moving thing, and he asked if we could go in a helicopter ride over Manhattan in his companies helicopter! Soooooooooooooo this might be going down soon! Saturday we had the Mormon Superbowl of General Conference, and it was weird this time cause me and Pelsue were the only ones in the church watching it haha i felt like a loner, Just me, Pelsue, and the holy ghost chillin, until one of us farted then the spirit would leave but it would come back hahahahaha jk But we did get a investigator named April to come and watch the second session. Felt bad for her she was soo bored ha i kept giving her Jolly Ranchers to keep her up and awake ha. The Sunday session was good too, we had a new Nanny there and Bill came. Then after the first session a big ol donkey show happened. Long story short a less active came in needing a place to stay and a ride to go to court and their wasn't really anything us or the bishop could do at that point and i just about broke this old mans hip! But i didn't, he told me i needed more compassion, haha what a jerry! But after that flipping thing was done with we ended the night with the second session then went and taught our investigators Carol and Tiana and Asia. But that was my week folks love you guys hope you all stayed awake during conference. I only fell asleep once :) HEYY OHH!
